That's Our Lon! Not all of USa appreciate the deeds and acts of the former President...

Sometimes, the House's panel that handles noncontroversial measures misfires.

Take today.

Right there on the congratulatory calendar was HCR 62, expressing appreciation for former President George W. Bush's service to Texas and the nation.

But Rep. Lon Burnam, D-Fort Worth, a Bush critic, has threatened to tie up the House for two hours asking questions about it. Burnam especially objects to the line I've italicized below.

He says it implies approval of water-boarding and other "enhanced" interrogation techniques:"Whereas, President Bush created the Department of Homeland Security and transformed the military, the intelligence community, and the FBI; he oversaw the development of new antiterrorism tools that have been instrumental in breaking up terrorist plots and preventing another attack on American soil."

Rep. Charles "Doc" Anderson, R-Waco, has agreed to delete everything after the semicolon there. In fact, he introduced HCR 168 as a cleanup. It deletes the phrase that offended Burnam.

"It was just posted by mistake," Anderson said of the original resolution.

Clean up or no, Burnam (right) said he'll still vote against. He apparently objects to very next paragraph in the resolution. It says, "The Bush administration met numerous foreign policy challenges..."

"Excellence in foreign policy?
Give me a break," Burnam said.
