Iranian opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi repeated his demand that the presidential vote be annulled, as police beat protesters and fired tear gas and water cannons at thousands who rallied in Tehran Saturday in open defiance of Iran's clerical government.
A letter addressed to the country's highest electoral authority was published on one of Mousavi's official Web sites Saturday. Mousavi didn't say in his letter whether he supported ongoing street protests.
