Half Price Books' earnings, locations have grown.Sales are up. More people are bringing in books to sell. So selections are wider and the titles more current. Retro, recycling and secondhand are cool.

Dallas-based Half Price Books' annual sales are up fourfold since Sharon 'Boots' Anderson Wright took over 13 years ago. The 50-year-old CEO has been a Half Price employee since she started sorting used books in her preteen years.
