The Little Engine of U.S. Manufacturing is still alive ... but when or will the jobs return?

The U.S. factory sector posted its third consecutive month of growth in October, as the ISM manufacturing index rose to 55.7 from 52.6 in September. A reading over 50 indicates expansion. The report also showed growth in the employment subcategory for the first time in 15 months.

Separately, construction spending climbed by 0.8% in September, as a forecasting gauge of housing-market activity also posted an increase.
